EAPCI training and research grants: 2009 winners

The European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) is committed to maintaining a high standard of professional excellence among the entire interventional community at all stages of their careers.

Thanks to the unrestricted support from industrial partners, the EAPCI offers training and research grants in interventional cardiology. They provide an opportunity for a one-year specialised research or clinical training for medical graduates at any stage of their career but before obtaining a "permanent", "senior staff" or "consultant" position, in an ESC country other than their country of residence. The ultimate goal is to enable "young" candidates to contribute to the enhancement of their country's academic standards upon return as well as encouraging exchanges and interactions from country to country.

The EAPCI Fellowship Committee chaired by Prof. Antoine Lafont is pleased to announce the 2009 winners:
- Dr Florim CUCULI (CH) funded by The Cordis Cardiac & Vascular Institute
- Dr Salvatore DE ROSA (IT) funded by Lilly France
- Dr Ahmed Kamel Abdel GHORAYEB (EG) funded by The Cordis Cardiac & Vascular Institute
- Dr Alexander IJSSELMUIDEN (NL) funded by Abbott Cardiovascular
- Dr Bikash MAJUMDER (GB) funded by Lilly France
- Dr Fabio MANGIACAPRA (IT) funded by The Cordis Cardiac & Vascular Institute
- Dr Apostolos TZIKAS (GR) funded by Boston Scientific
Congratulations to all winners and thank you to our industry partners.
