| Cardiovascular Institute & Fu Wai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Beijing, China is the largest specialized hospital for cardiovascular disease in China. There are 700 beds in the Department of Cardiology and Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, together with operating theaters, postoperative ICU, CCU and Catheterization Lab as well as more than 20 clinical, diagnostic and basic research divisions including Cardiovascular Molecular Biology Center. Over 7000 cases of cardiovascular operations are performed each year and 15000 cases of cardiovascular interventional procedures are undergone annually, including 5000 cases of coronary interventions. The hospital/institute is also the National Center for Cardiovascular Disease (NCCD), Ministry of Health, China. |
