The Institut Hospitalier Jacques Cartier and Hôpital Privé Claude Galien belong to the Générale de Santé group which is the leading private hospitalization network in France and Europe.
These two hospitals have become reference multidisciplinary health care centers in the Southern Greater Paris area because of their size and volume of activities, the renown of their physicians and their pole of excellence in adult and pediatric cardiology, cardio-vascular surgery, cardiac imaging and Interventional Cardiology which constitutes the Institut Cardiovasculaire Paris Sud.

Equipped with 5 latest generation digital cath-labs, this department operating in two different sites (Institut Hospitalier Jacques Cartier and Hôpital Privé Claude Galien) with 11 interventional cardiologists, 21 nurses and two emergency coronary care units is open 24 hours and is specialized in complex percutaneous coronary interventions and in the management of patients presenting with myocardial infarction. Since 2002, cardiac MRI and 64-slice CT scan have been proposed as additional diagnostic tools to the interventional cardiology patients |

The international reputation of the department’s physicians is based on their substantial production of research work, their involvement in major clinical trials as primary investigators (PAMI, RAVEL, REALITY, FRONTIER, XAMINE ST, SYNTAX...............) their publications in leading medical journals (NEJM, JAMA, CIRCULATION..........) and their participation as guest lecturers and session chairperson in important congresses and scientific sessions (AHA, ACC, ESC, TCT)
The department has its own research infrastructure with a core-lab, three clinical research monitors, six international fellows in training and the whole paramedical staff is involved in research.
